12.1 Configuring Asynchronous PPP Server

Before configuration, ensure that the following fileset are installed on your AIX system:

• bos.net.ppp

Setting up the PPP Server basically requires six steps:

1. Setting up the PPP link control configuration

2. Assigning the PPP IP addresses

3. Setting up the special PPP dial-in ID

4. Adding the TTY port

5. Configuring the modem

6. Starting PPP
