AIX Version 4.1 base system (bos.rte) consists of errlog subroutines, errsave, and errlast kernel service, error device driver (/dev/error), error daemon, and the errinstall, errupdate, and errstop commands.
An optionally installable software service aids package (bos_sysmgt.serv_aid) which consists of the errclear, errdead, errlogger, errmsg, errpt, and sysdumpstart commands is required to generate reports from an error log using the errpt command and to delete entries from the error log using the errclear command.
