1. Create a virtual printer with the name vprinter on a local system for the remote queue, qremote. If the remote queue does not exist on the remote system then create the remote queue.

2. Create a text file containing your name, address and telephone number on individual lines.

3. Start a trace for this virtual printer, vprinter.

4. Print the text file created in step 2 on the vprinter.

5. Using the results of the trace output determine:
   1. The remote queue name

   2. The number of bytes in the data file

   3. The job number

   4. The local host name

6. Stop the lpd daemon on the remote server.

7. Repeats steps 3 to 5.

8. Restart the lpd daemon.
